ABOUT YOUR HOSTS

Meet Dhivya

A Toronto-based professional photographer, video creator, and digital storyteller. Initially drawn to visual storytelling through restaurant photography while navigating the corporate world, Dhivya's journey took a turn during maternity leave and the pandemic. Transitioning to photographing for food bloggers and launching her blog, she soon delved into videography, starting with simple hands-in-pan videos after a basic course.

The turning point came when Dhivya discovered cinematic food video and the power of storytelling. With guidance from mentors, she refined her skills, creating compelling narratives that became pivotal in attracting clients. Despite a modest social following, Dhivya commands a premium for her cinematic videos, fostering a thriving content creation business. She believes in the transformative potential of video creation, advocating that with a camera, good lighting, and determination, anyone can create magic in small spaces.

Meet Preethi

Preethi, a versatile freelance food and product photographer, videographer and food stylist,  based in North Carolina, is fueled by her love for food and its ability to bring people together.

With a background in finance, she discovered her passion for photography through her food blog, eventually leaping to pursue it full-time.

Specializing in vibrant and bold imagery, Preethi's colorful style brings food stories to life.

Though she was thrown into the world of videography, she quickly adapted and educated herself to create eye-catching cinematic videos. With the guidance of a mentor she refined her videography skills and now creates captivating video narratives for her clients.

Using both natural and artificial light, she easily draws viewers into her food stories. She works out of her small home studio setup and believes you do not need to have a huge space to create show-stopping content.

Her goal is to make cinematic videography easy for everyone, so they can share their food stories with the world confidently and effortlessly.

• Small Intimate Learning Opportunity: We have ensured a small group size to deliver the best possible learning experience for you. This allows us to provide personalized 1-1 time during our session.
• Hands-On Filming: You will have an opportunity to film and edit a video during the workshop, putting your skills into practice immediately.
• Homework: After the session, we encourage you to create a small reel at home to practice and reinforce the skills learned during the workshop.
• 2 Bonus Zoom Sessions: We will provide two 1-hour Zoom sessions to help iron out any challenges you may face at home while filming or editing and to review your homework.

WHAT TO BRING

To make the most of this hands-on experience, please ensure you bring the following:

• DSLR/Mirrorless Camera: Ensure your camera supports 1080P video and that you are familiar with using manual settings. Also don't forget to pack SD cards.
• Tripod: A stable platform for your camera during filming is crucial. Bring a tripod to achieve steady shots.
• Laptop (Charger): For the editing portion of the workshop, make sure you have your laptop with Adobe Premiere Pro installed. Don't forget your charger!

What We Will Not Be Offering

• Presentation Sharing: The presentation shared during the workshop will not be distributed. Please be sure to take notes to make the most of the valuable insights shared.
• Accommodation: We do not offer accommodation for participants flying in from other cities. However, we are happy to assist you in finding a place close to the venue. Feel free to reach out for recommendations.
• Online Workshop: This is an in-person workshop and we are unable to offer an online option

Cancellation

Up to One Month Before Workshop: You can cancel up to one month before the workshop with a full refund.

Within One Month: We regret to inform you that we will not be providing a refund if you cancel within one month of the workshop. But we are happy to work with you to provide an online 1-1 class.

If for some unforeseen reason, the workshop is canceled, we will offer you a full refund.
