2 cups (240 g) flour 2 tbs Butter 1 tsp Kalonji or Nigella seeds ¾ tsp Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp Kosher Salt – ½ cup (120 ml) water – Oil for frying

Step 1

Make the Dough. To a bowl add spices, salt, flour and butter. Mix till the butter is well incorporated.  Add a little water at a time and knead to a stiff dough.

Step 2

Rolling and Cutting. Divide the dough into 5 equal pieces. Roll out each piece into 10 inch disc.  Pierce the surface of the pastry with a fork. Cut the disc into diamonds.

Frying. Fry the Diamond Cuts in batches till golden

Step 3

Store in an air tight container at room tempertatur.
